The Standard Oil Coffee Company is a unique destination located across the street from the historic Hotel St. Cloud. Our coffee shop offers specialty coffee drinks crafted with precision and care, and our gift shop showcases locally curated merchandise perfect for visitors to take a piece of our history home with them. As a part of our team, you’ll play an important role in providing exceptional service and enriching the experience for hotel guests, locals, and tourists alike.
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Barista. This role is at the heart of our daily operations in the coffee shop and gift shop, delivering quality beverages, friendly service, and a welcoming experience to every guest. This is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about coffee, retail, local culture, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Beverage Preparation: Prepare high-quality coffee beverages with precision and care, following recipes and quality standards during opening, mid, and closing shifts.
- Inventory & Merchandising: Help monitor stock levels and maintain appealing, organized displays in the coffee shop and gift shop.
- Customer Experience: Cultivate a welcoming and engaging environment for guests. Address customer concerns or questions and work to create memorable experiences.
- Retail Expertise: Provide knowledgeable recommendations on gift shop products to guests and tourists.
- Local Knowledge: Share insights about the history of Hotel St. Cloud, nearby attractions, and tourist activities to enrich each visitor’s experience.
- Cleanliness & Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment across all areas of operation.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Previous experience in coffee, food service, or retail preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
- Passion for hospitality, local culture, and exceptional customer service
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a team environment
- Reliable, punctual, and available to work weekends and holidays
- Interest in learning and sharing information about coffee, history, and tourism in the area
